Tenderloin Sunday Streets
In celebration of our expansion to the Tenderloin, 826 Valencia will be set up outside our new location at 180 Golden Gate (on the corner at Leavenworth). We will be introducing ourselves to the neighborhood, answering questions, bartering jokes, and inviting visitors to write and be published in a special Tenderloin chapbook heralding a future of many more student publications to come out of this location. Come say hello — we're looking forward to meeting our new neighbors! Sunday Streets in the Tenderloin has been a huge success in the community. This densely populated neighborhood houses the highest number of families with children, has one of the highest rates of car-free households, and has the least amount of park space per capita in San Francisco. Few neighborhoods make a better case for transforming streets into recreational space for playing and building community. The Tenderloin Streets route includes Fulton St between Hyde and Larkin, Larkin to Ellis St, Ellis to Jones St, Jones to Golden Gate Ave, and Golden Gate Ave to Larkin St. For more information, visit the Sunday Streets website.
