You Are Fascinating and Your College Essay Should Prove It Taught by Vendela Vida Open to 12 students, high school seniors only A one-day workshop October 4 Sunday, 12:00-2:00 PM Are you a high school senior who’s applying to college and struggling to figure out the topic of your personal statement? Are you curious about what topics are okay and which are cliché? In this two-hour session, the class will discuss what makes for a stand-out personal essay, and you'll meet one-on-one with the instructor to zone in on what topic might be best for YOU, personally. The workshop is timed so that you can take advantage of the Great San Francisco Personal Statement Weekend, which takes place two weeks later, and where you can received one-on-one writing help with your personal statement. Taught by Vendela Vida, novelist, 826 Valencia board member, and longtime teacher at 826 Valencia of a class on writing the college admissions essay. N.B. This workshop is specifically for students who are just starting their personal statements.
