How to Decode a Picasso: An Art Writing Workshop
Taught by Melanie Bridges Open to 12 students, ages 11–13 A two-week workshop January 14 & 21 Saturdays, 12–2 p.m. Find your inner art critic! Have you ever looked at a famous painting and wondered what all the fuss was about? Or been moved by a work of art and wished you could describe how it made you feel? In this workshop, we will learn how to craft our own unique perspectives about visual art. First, we will engage in group discussions about specific artworks by big names like Monet and Picasso as well as artists you may have never heard of. Then, it's your turn to pick an artwork to share. You will translate your observations into writing and present your interpretations to the group. Next time you visit a museum, you can be an expert on any work you see! To enroll in this workshop, fill out the following Google form: https://goo.gl/forms/xBXcEhu3KiPaDrr32 You will receive an email to confirm your spot in the workshop.
