The Yum, the Yuck, and the Meh

(Workshop)

Apr 9,2017, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM @ 826 Valencia St.
Taught by Sejal Patel Open to 12 students, ages 8-11 A one-day workshop April 9 Sunday, 12-2 p.m. Can you associate a moment in your family history with food? It can be the seven almonds your grandparents gave your parents every morning of their childhood. Or, you may have a story about the amusement park churros your parents waited in a long line to buy for you and then missed a parade because of the wait. And how insulting - the churros turned out to be stale! Come to class with family story in mind around food. We will explore how our memories develop around sensory experiences and how much food informs moments of family history. You will leave class with a short essay or story about the really yummy, the blah bland, or the totally disgusting!
