The Fish Theatre Presents: Creative Mean
We are thrilled to hold the next Creative Mean event at 826’s new Tenderloin Center and King Carl’s Emporium, July 27th 6:30-8:30pm, featuring a reading of the best youth writing from 826 Valencia, designer Ashley Tillman from IDEO, and the team behind Anxy Magazine. Admission is free! What is Creative Mean? In the age of the echo chamber Creative Mean is for those that want to break out of their creative comfort zones and hear something different. Creative Mean brings together professionals from different mediums and industries for a night of diverse talks and performances. By connecting with talented people from different backgrounds we hope to create a space for speakers and attendees to both challenge and clarify notions around their own creative practices. About our speakers: For 15 years 826 Valencia has been inspiring youth writers in under-resourced communities around the Bay Area and beyond. They will be kicking the night off with a reading of student prose from their 826 Quarterly journal. Anxy Magazine is the new hit magazine that tackles mental health and sheds light on our inner worlds. Their editorial team will share their insights and thoughts with us and talk about what drives them to bring Anxy to the world. As a designer with OpenIDEO, Ashley Tillman works with communities to tackle some of the world's biggest problems. She will share insights into large scale problem solving and human-centered design.
