826 Valencia Programs Assistants — In-schools position available

The Programs Assistants will increase 826 Valencia’s capacity to serve under-resourced students in San Francisco by supporting our student programming both in the classroom, working directly with teachers and students on their school campus, and onsite at 826 Valencia in our Writing Lab during after-school and evening tutoring programs. These one-year positions are a unique opportunity to learn about curriculum development and teaching skills from within an innovative nonprofit organization.

Successful candidates will be extremely organized, self-motivated, enthusiastic about 826 Valencia’s mission, talented communicators, and very detail-oriented. A passion for education and a strong sense of social justice are essential. Candidates with Spanish-language skills, media contacts, and computer skills (including experience with email programs such as MailChimp and databases such as Salesforce) will be given priority. The BAYAC members will work at our site on Valencia Street (826 Valencia, San Francisco, CA 94110), as well as on local Mission District school campuses where 826 Valencia hosts programming, and will be supervised by In-Schools and On-Site Programs Directors.
