826 Valencia is thrilled to work with AmeriCorps*VISTA members to build the organization’s capacity to serve under-resourced students in San Francisco by supporting development. Come work with a fun and driven team to support 826 Valencia’s impactful writing programs and ensure our organization’s sustainable growth. The Development Systems Administrator will work closely with the 826 Valencia development team to:
Build and expand our development systems: Identify new prospects, use data to expand fundraising opportunities, maintain database tracking for donors and organizational funders, ensure donors are systematically and regularly appreciated by skillful use of data systems, write donor acknowledgement letters, research other chapters’ membership systems and audit best practices, contribute information and insights to donor engagement plans and approaches for donor expansion and sustainability
Help to plan and host a successful annual fundraiser: write press releases, spread the word to donors, support social media efforts, manage ticket sales, track ticket sales and be a part of the fun at the event
Broaden the surrounding communities’ awareness of 826 programs: Be an ambassador for our work, keep area press and politicians up to date on 826 programs and their impact on improving reading and writing skills of youth, help to recruit participants, develop new fact sheets and other materials to better inform the public of 826 programs and successes of the youth participating in programs, represent 826 Valencia at community events
