In that moment, I felt more free than a prisoner getting let out of jail. Though it was a jumbly, gloriumptious pleasure, we decided that if we had to take showers every time we wrestled in the mud, we wouldn’t want to play outside anymore. Yet, we were grateful that we had not just stayed inside. We were joyous as we ignored the rest of the world.
“Let’s play sports tomorrow,” I suggested. Everyone nodded vigorously at my idea.
Now, I realize that I should value these rare, monumental moments. Though it only felt like an exciting day, I’ve learned that there is so much more significance to these memories than it seems.
