A coloring book for all ages

826 Valencia is proud to announce that we’ve published our first-ever coloring book, a collection of wonderful and wacky illustrations from our Storytelling and Bookmaking Field Trips program, in which a class of elementary school students visit our Writing Lab and collaboratively write a story with the help of a talented group of experienced volunteers.

The drawings collected within bring to life such kid-creations as Gooey Scaly Pink Tiger and Stella Flynn the Snat, sure to entertain kids of all ages and the young at heart. The illustrators featured are all Bay Area artists, including Ashley Despain, Children’s Book Buyer at Green Apple Books; Sarah Clark, Lead Game Artist for Luminosity; Dave Dávila, Operations Manager at NIMBY; and professional illustrator Aidan O’Flynn. All four artists were steadfast field trip volunteers during the 2014–2015 school year.

In addition to the featured illustrators, we’re immensely grateful to our cover illustrator Isabella Kung, and Adriana del Mar, who designed the book.

The book can be purchased from our online store and our brick and mortar Pirate Supply Store. We’re also hosting a series of coloring parties to celebrate the release. Please join us, meet the artists, grab your copy (and a few for holiday gifting!), and color with your new friends!

Saturday, November 14, 2–4 p.m., 826 Valencia Pirate Supply Store, event details here!

Also, be sure to check out our illustrators’ other events around the Bay:
