In the summer of 2002, 826 Valencia asked dozens of professional writers if they would loan us original proofs from their work. The idea was to show young writers how much work goes into any given story or book or poem, to make clear how much revision even the most seasoned writers require.
Many of the writers we spoke to responded, sending us proofs, full of their own handwritten marks and those of their editors, which are now framed and hanging on the walls of our writing lab.
Visitors are welcome to browse these walls when classes aren't in session.
