Mission Bay Center: Songwriting 101 with Blue Bear School of Music (Ages 11-14)

Words on a page are a beautiful sight, but sometimes they beg to be heard! In this workshop, Blue Bear School of Music will teach you how to express yourself through the power of song. By breaking down hit tracks from famous artists, you'll learn about the rhythmic, melodic, and lyric elements of songwriting. Together you’ll cover arrangement techniques, chord patterns, and the use of literary elements to write your own lyrics and set them to music. Come get the help every budding songwriter needs to become a more confident musician. No prior musical experience necessary.
This workshop will take place near our Mission Bay Center at 626 Mission Bay Blvd.

After registering, staff will reach out to offer a spot depending on eligibility and availability in the program. Our workshops are open to anyone, but we do give priority to SFUSD students with socio-economic need and hold spaces for students enrolled in our other programs.
