I say, “War, no more!”

The sound of gunshots

ringing in your ear.

The loss of innocent people.

I say, “War, no more!”

People

caught in between

all the violence and chaos.

I say, “War, no more!”

Women, men, and children

suddenly disappear,

never to be seen again.

I say, “War, no more!”

Receiving news

that breaks you down

like glass shattering.

I say, “War, no more!”

The loss of loved ones

fills you with different emotions

as tiny waterfalls rush down your face.

I say, “War, no more!”

Anxious families praying

for the safety

of their loved ones.

I say, “War, no more!”

Brave people

risking their lives

to end this massacre.

I say, “War, no more!”

Why’d they have to go?

No longer by your side.

Not able to say goodbye.

I say, “War, no more!”
