Meet Erin Lang – Our September Teacher of the Month!
We are delighted to announce our September 2024 Teacher of the Month! Erin Lang is a second-grade teacher at Dr. Charles R. Drew College Preparatory Academy. We are honored to recognize Ms. Erin for her unwavering dedication to her students, school, and community!
Walk into Ms. Erin’s classroom any day, and you’ll see a vibrant, lively spacewhere students are engaged in conversations and activities. She fosters a sense of community and encourages her students to explore different topics. Juggling her students’ varying academic and emotional needs is no easy task, but she does it with such grace.
One third-grade student says, “You are the best teacher. All day, every day, you are so funny and the songs that you pick are the best songs in the world. You make fun things and activities.”
Ms. Erin is amazing at helping students at Drew succeed! She’s always there for her students, meeting with them during and after school as the school’s Literacy Interventionist. She’s incredibly patient and goes out of her way to find new ways to support her students’ emotional well-being.
Another third-grade student says, “I appreciate you because I love you and you helped me calm down when I was sad.”
Ms. Erin sets high expectations for her students and makes sure they have all they need for success during class. On top of that, she’s taken on the role of Literacy Interventionist, working with students from all grades to help boost their reading levels.
One colleague says, “She’s always the first to bring up her students’ needs during our teacher meetings, and her students feel safe and supported. It’s clear that she creates an environment where they feel comfortable being challenged in their writing.”
Another third-grade student says, “Thank you for teaching me how to read and spell words. You are kind.”
