Honoring two amazing Teachers of the Month!

This month, we’re so pleased to have not one, but two amazing teachers to celebrate! Ms. Taylor and Mr. Hennessy are innovative educators who co-teach Language Arts at Ida B. Wells High School. We partnered with this dynamic duo to support their students on this year’s Young Authors’ Book Project—and what a pleasure it was! We are thrilled to honor this dedicated team with our May Teacher of the Month award.

Ms. Taylor has impressed us with her commitment to students and the school community. Her nominators admire her dedication to student learning, her passion for literature, and her judgment-free classroom. She is known for making writing meaningful and exciting for her students, strategically striving to reach this goal every day, as her nominators have observed. She is a beloved member of the community at Ida B. Wells High School, where one colleague calls her “an amazing breath of fresh air.”

Mr. Hennessy has also impressed us with his dedication to his students, adding his own flare to help them reach their full potential. His relentless commitment to his class never goes unnoticed amongst their community. His colleagues applaud his approach to teaching, noting that it’s clear to everyone that he loves his students very much. Other nominators have taken it even further saying that Mr. Hennessy “has worked continuously to find ways to support and engage the students,” seeking ways to connect with them and making sure all their needs are met.

We can see why these two wonderful teachers are much appreciated by the community at Ida B. Wells High School, and we couldn’t be happier to feature them as our May Teachers of the Month. Congratulations!
