If you're in eighth grade and planning to apply to RUTH ASAWA SAN FRANCISCO SCHOOL OF THE ARTS, we're here to help. 826 Valencia is teaming up with SOTA's Creative Writing Literary Arts track to offer you guidance and feedback on your application in time for this year’s December 16 deadline. We'll have current SOTA students there who know the application process inside and out, because they've done it before! To learn more about SOTA's Creative Writing department, check out http://sotacw.org/.

Students will learn the basics of how to write poetry using concrete imagery and fresh language. Students will be able to begin writing their poems in the workshops, and are welcome to return for as many sessions as desired.
