The 826 Quarterly, Volume 20, now available!

The twentieth volume of the 826 Quarterly was released this month during LitQuake’s annual LitCrawl event on October 18. We had a packed house on Saturday night as we celebrated the publication with a crowd-pleasing author reading covering all manner of topics – from tales of monsters falling in love and hamsters retiring, to robots resurrected and unchecked raccoon populations. Friends, family, students, and the LitCrawling public gathered to hear our authors proudly read their stories and poems. The evening concluded with an entirely entertaining question and answer session, in which our young authors discussed their writing process. (The conclusion: spelling is hard.)

Anyone who missed the festivities is encouraged to drop by 826 Valencia and pick up a copy of the 826 Quarterly, Volume 20 from the Pirate Supply Store. You can also order it from our online store here. With precious illustrations by the wonderful LeUyen Pham and designed by Christine Herrin, this issue of the 826 Quarterly is a beauty to behold. The Quarterly collects the best of our students’ writing from the past semester, and this issue is chock-full of bright young voices speaking out what matters most, finding their voices and finding themselves.

Get yourself a copy, give it as a gift, or simply show your support by helping us continue to offer free tutoring and creative writing support to our community.
