Virtual Tutor Training

What  A virtual training for virtual tutoring For Who  826 Valencia Volunteer When  Thursday, June 18 Time  11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

It’s time to sail back into volunteering! We piloted and succeeded in bringing remote tutoring to about 600 of our students when quarantine took effect in San Francisco. This was in major part due to the support of volunteers like yourself. Now we are sending out the call again, this time for 826 Valencia's summer programming!

You must complete the virtual tutor training with the volunteer team before signing up for a shift. This training will qualify you to work in our summer programing, and any remote tutoring that may be available in the fall. If you have already completed a virtual volunteer tutor training with us, you do not need to complete another.

This summer, we’ll have virtual versions of our three classic summer camps:

  • Exploring Words Summer Camp for elementary school students, June 29 - July 17
  • Exploring Leadership Summer Camp for middle school students, July 6 - 24
  • Young Authors' Workshop for high school students, July 6 - 24
You'll need to complete this training to be involved in any of these programs. We hope you can join us for this training! Here are the dates of our planned virtual volunteer trainings if this one doesn't work for you:

You can RSVP for the training that works best for you, and the Zoom link to RSVP for your training will be sent to you. Just email volunteer@826valencia.org or paolo.bicchieri@826valencia.org with any questions.

Warmly,
