Meet our Volunteer of the Month, Tracy Liu

TracySince joining 826 as a design intern in the summer of 2014, Tracy Liu has proven herself to be an indispensable member of 826 Valencia’s design team. During her internship, she lent her distinctive style and humor to countless projects, including laying out many a monthly newsletter and undertaking the massive task of conceptualizing the branding of our entire 2015 Bookeaters’ Bash—everything from the invites, to the auction paddles, to the programs, and more!

We’re incredibly lucky that Tracy has since stuck around as a volunteer, designing the last two issues of the 826 Quarterly, the Straight Up News, and a store window display featuring our 2015 scholarship winners. You might also recognize her work from our 2015 holiday card, which featured her original illustration of our very own puffer fish mascot, Pasha.

Aside from her many artistic talents, Tracy is also just a joy to have around the office, constantly delighting us with homemade treats and doodles of sea creatures. Tracy came to us by way of Los Angeles, where she lived until moving to the Bay Area four years ago to attend California College of the Arts, earning her BFA in Graphic Design in 2014. She’s recently dipped her toes into the fearsome waters of the freelance design world—check her out here: tracy-liu.com.

When not designing, she’s usually baking and experimenting with new recipes, doodling, or searching for rubber ducks to collect. Thank you Tracy, for all that you design, bake, and do!
